Special Olympics Poly Hockey
The Detroit Red Wings, in partnership with Gallagher, have demonstrated their commitment to supporting Special Olympics Poly Hockey athletes across Michigan by hosting two special events during the season—one in Traverse City and one in Detroit. These celebrations aimed to promote inclusion and grow the game of hockey within the disabled community. In Traverse City, athletes and their caregivers were welcomed as VIP guests to watch a Red Wings training camp practice, followed by a surprise hockey skills clinic with Red Wings players. In Detroit, athletes and their supporters enjoyed a Red Wings practice at Little Caesars Arena before participating in their own skills session on the main concourse, where players again joined in the fun. In addition to these memorable experiences, the Detroit Red Wings and Gallagher provided a donation to help Special Olympics Michigan purchase new equipment for Poly Hockey athletes statewide.
