The Caps in School curriculum offers educators and grade-school students opportunities to engage with the Washington Capitals and participate in a variety of classroom programming.

The reading program is designed to encourage students in grades K-5 to add more reading to their daily activity. Caps in School also launched a writing program in 2022-23 that provides students 14 and under the opportunity to fine-tune their writing skills, while engaging with the Capitals.

The Capitals will also host a "Think at the Rink" field trip, designed for 3rd-5th graders to leverage STEM in hockey.
