Comedian Matt Rife performs wearing Nash Blue Jackets jersey

When comedian Matt Rife took the stage at Nationwide Arena for his sold-out show on Saturday, he was wearing an outfit that many Columbus Blue Jackets fans will recognize.

Rife, an Ohio native, wore a Rick Nash No. 61 sweater to honor the Blue Jackets legend. Nash himself was at the show and even brought Rife to the stage.

Of course, Nash had to sign the jersey after the show.

Nash was selected by the Blue Jackets with the No. 1 pick in the 2002 NHL Draft and played nine seasons with them, earning All-Rookie honors his first season and winning the Maurice Richard Trophy in his second year.

He played 1,060 games throughout his 15-year NHL career with three different teams: the Blue Jackets, New York Rangers and Boston Bruins.

Nash retired in 2018 and currently serves as director of player development for the Blue Jackets.
