Rangers centennial logo

The New York Rangers are ready to raise the curtain on their centennial season, revealing the special logo that will be at center ice at Madison Square Garden this year on Tuesday.

The logo is a red, white and blue crest with “100” in the center and the Rangers logo just below it. The words “New York Rangers” and “Madison Square Garden” are surrounding the crest.

The Rangers were founded in 1926 and were part of the “Original Six” teams that made up the League from 1942 until 1967.

The crest is the original Rangers logo from the team's inaugural season. The dark blue background color was used on the shield from 1948-1976.

The team originally unveiled the logo back in March.

Throughout the season, the Rangers will be celebrating the milestone year with special programming and initiatives.

The team kicks off its centennial season as part of ESPN’s tripleheader on Oct. 7, with an 8 p.m. ET puck drop against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Madison Square Garden.
